Life changes quietly - and then all at once.
Maternity, birth, and newborn films are created to honour the beginning of a family’s story. These are the moments filled with anticipation, surrender, tenderness, and love - often experienced in a blur, yet held forever in the body.
My approach to documenting these moments is gentle and respectful , allowing space for emotion, stillness, and the small details that shape this chapter. The result is something deeply personal — a record of how it felt, not just how it looked.
Maternity sessions
Maternity sessions can be photographed, filmed, or created as a combination of both.
These sessions are calm and unhurried, captured either in your home or somewhere meaningful. They’re a chance to pause, reflect, and mark this in-between space - before everything changes.
Whether through still images or moving film, maternity sessions honour the becoming.
Birth stories
Birth stories are approached with deep respect for the intensity and vulnerability of birth.
I work quietly & unobtrusively, following your lead and honouring your space, your choices, and the support around you. Birth stories are captured through a combination of film & photography, creating a layered record of strength, surrender, and arrival.
NB Because of the nature of birth work, availability is limited, and films are typically shared privately. Photos and still-frames shown here offer a glimpse into the tone and care of this work.
Newborn films
Newborn films are slow, gentle, and intimate.
Filmed in the early days at home, these sessions preserve the softness of this time - the way your baby moves, sleeps, stretches, and is held. There is no expectation to perform or prepare. Everything unfolds at your pace.
I offer two approaches:
Newborn Moments films - observational and quiet, capturing you just as you are;
Newborn Story films - weaving gentle conversation and reflection into the film.
Both sit beautifully within a family’s growing archive.

Once you have decided to book a film session with me, I will gently guide the process - firstly by getting to know you through a zoom call or over a coffee. The filming session itself is extremely relaxed; usually in your own home. No effort, preparation, or ‘performance’ is required from you! I will work my magic, capturing you beautifully, just as you are.

With my Family Films, you have two options - the ‘family story’ films involve a recorded interview, which is weaved into a narrative for your film. The ‘family moments’ films do not include an interview, just natural moments between you.
My Legacy Films also have two options - either a ‘story film’ (single film) that captures the essence of your life’s story; or ‘chapter films’ (multiple films), which cover the various chapters of your/your loved one’s life.
And with my Maternity/Birth/Newborn Films there are many options, including combo packages, covering pregnancy, birth, and newborn sessions. Please enquire to discuss in detail! I’d love to hear from you!

I will keep you up-to-date with my progress - you will typically receive your film gallery within a month of your filming session. I don’t like to rush the creative process, but if you need a quick turnaround please just let me know - I will always do my best to accommodate.

Yes! Whilst video is my primary service, I do offer photography as an ‘add on’ or as a stand alone service to my family clients. Please ask me for a personal quote & we can discuss your needs.

Absolutely! I love to travel — please let me know your location and I’ll create a custom quote to cover my travel expenses (if you’re outside Auckland). NB for birth stories, due to the on call nature of labour, I currently only cover Auckland’s North Shore.
