September stories //

Hello, from the Coromandel

Hello dear reader. Welcome to the first Beau and Arrow Films monthly newsletter. I write to you from the ‘Earth Hut, nestled in native bush at my home away from home in the Coromandel - Te Moata.

What a place to be.

I’m here with my husband and kids. We’re surrounded by the sounds of native birds, such as tūī and kererū, and the gentle rustling of a spring-time breeze amongst the trees. We’re planning to wander down to the stream and put our toes in the water soon… absolute bliss, honestly.

We are here volunteering our time for the weekend, helping to pull weeds in the garden, and gently tend to the land - it is such a welcome reprieve from my cameras and editing screen!

It’s also the last weekend of the school holidays, and my 41st birthday on Monday - so it feels like a truly ideal place to be right now, before the final quarter of 2025 & a new summer season gets underway.

How are you doing?

I hope life is feeling manageable, and that the cocoon from winter is slowly falling away. I write this as I notice the sun setting, twinkling through the trees, an hour later than last week… spring is finally here. New beginnings promised.

September was a busy month for me - celebrating the kids’ 8th & 11th birthdays; filming a couple of weddings (one being a Wes Anderson style film - I’m excited to get stuck into the edit!); and finally finishing my website refresh. There are new service offerings, including photography; my wedding bookings are now open for 2026/2027 (with a few last minute spaces available in 25/26); and I am so genuinely excited to share more about my family and legacy films. Did you know that I also film birth/newborn stories? Feel free to check out the website for more info & let me know what you think!

I will sign off now, conscious not to take too much of your time - but I will share some links below, and will look forward to checking in with you again soon.

Wishing you a joyful and abundant spring-time,

Hayley x
